Ever have split pea soup in a crock pot?  The extra slow cooking time enhances the flavor of this ordinary soup.  This is a d
elicious and healthy a soup that will curb even the heartiest appetite.  

 

2 cups split peas, rinsed

6 cups hot water

1 cup sliced or diced carrots

1 cup sliced celery

1 medium onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

½ tsp. dried marjoram

½ tsp. dried basil

¼ tsp. dried cumin

1 tsp. salt

¼ tsp. black pepper

Pinch of cayenne

Cook in crock-pot on low for 6-8 hours and enjoy.
